About us
Welcome to the Chicago & Beyond EMDR Therapist Community!
This group is a professional community for EMDR-trained mental health professionals who are interested in strengthening their EMDR practice, discussing challenging clinical cases, expanding their clinical knowledge, and building meaningful connections with other EMDR clinicians.
EMDR work can be deeply rewarding, but complex cases can also leave us with questions about case conceptualization, preparation and stabilization, treatment planning, blocks in processing, dissociation, parts work, and how to adapt EMDR while remaining grounded in the model.
This group was created as a collaborative space where EMDR clinicians can bring clinical questions and challenging cases for discussion, exchange perspectives and ideas, and learn from one another. Depending on the event, meetings may include EMDR case consultation and discussion, virtual Lunch & Learns, focused clinical topics related to EMDR and trauma treatment, and opportunities for professional connection.
Whether you are currently completing EMDR basic training, recently trained, working toward EMDR certification, an EMDR Certified Therapist, Consultant in Training, or Approved Consultant, you are welcome to join. Clinicians at different stages of their EMDR journey bring different experiences and perspectives, and my hope is to create a supportive and collaborative community where we can continue developing our clinical skills together.
Please note: This group is intended for mental health professionals who are currently completing or have completed EMDR basic training. Members who discuss clinical material are expected to protect client confidentiality and avoid sharing identifying information. This group is not a therapy or peer-support group for individuals seeking mental health treatment.
