What we’re about
This is a meetup for anyone interested in all things containers, including Docker, and PaaS, including Cloud Foundry.
We believe that containers, not VMs/hypervisors, will dominate cloud-native workloads in as little as 10 years from now. Taking into account the growing interest to containers from the PaaS vendors (which are on the rise, as well), we can also expect these two hot trends (PaaS and containers) to support each other in a long run.
Supported by Docker, IBM, HP, Rackspace, SAP, Pivotal, VMware and EMC, ActiveState, CenturyLink, New Relic, Altoros and 35+ companies who are members of the Cloud Foundry Foundation, Cloud Foundry and Docker are aimed at fixing the traditional -outdated- way of delivering applications. Cloud Foundry features a range of components which provide a faster and easier way to build, test, deploy and scale applications. Docker offers developer-friendly portability of workloads between deployment environments. We'll discuss all the most important elements and capabilities that make Docker and Cloud Foundry best friends of DevOps professionals and software architects.
