Beth at Lorna's Laces (http://www.lornaslaces.net/) has invited us back for another Mill Ends Sale!
(For those who are unfamiliar, mill ends are discounted skeins of Lorna's yarn, that don't quite pass quality control. This means that there may be one or two knots within the skein, the colorway didn't come out as intended, or a few drops of dye may have spilled where they shouldn't have. Most of the time, these flaws are small and unnoticeable.)
This meetup comes with a few guidelines, so please make sure to read all of the information below:
When we get there, we will have to be let into the building as a group. To join in the fun, make sure to be there be there by 9:45am sharp. (If you show up late, there will be no one downstairs to let you in)
The tour will start at 10am. Beth will give a short explaination of each yarn, and then give us a demo on the hand-dying process. During this time, the yarn for sale will be out on display. Please resist the urge to shop or pick up yarn during the demonstration, it's impolite.
After the demonstration, it will be time to shop! Hooray! The studio space is small, and only comfortably fits 20 people at at time. Depending on the number of "Yes" RSVP's we get, we may need to assign numbers.
(If this is the case, we will randomly assign numbers before the tour, to determine the order of entry for shopping. After the demonstration everyone will step back into the hall, and those with numbers 1-20 will be let back in to shop. After that, it will be 1-in, 1-out.)
Lorna's accepts cash or credit card for the sale, but cannot accept checks.
Finally, the yarn that is for sale will be laid out on tables throughout the room. Please make sure not to touch any of the yarns in the bins along the wall, those are going other places and aren't a part of our sale.
How to find us: The address is 4229 N. Honore Street Chicago, IL 60613, but the entrance is on Ravenswood Ave. Before the tour we will be outside the entrance on Ravenswood Ave. (on the west side of the metra tracks).
How to get there: Lorna's is just down the block from Montrose Brown Line stop, and there is parking out front on Ravenswood.
(We will not be collecting the $1 meetup fee for this meetup.)
