PostgreSQL: The World's Most Advanced Open Source Database.
We are a community of Postgres professionals who seek to deepen our understanding of this awesome relational database, explore ways to extend Postgres, build applications atop it, interface it to other databases, and tune it for maximum value. We seek to do this in a casual setting while sharing friendships, food, and - of course - beer. So come, join us and discuss your Postgres experiences and share the tips and tricks you've learned using it.

Umair Shahid, Founder of SormaticsTalk title:
Clustering in PostgreSQL: Because one database server is never enough (and neither is two)Talk Abstract:
In the world of database management, high availability and disaster recovery are key considerations for any organization that wants to ensure reliable access to its critical data. Clustering in PostgreSQL is one of the most effective ways to achieve both. In this talk, we will explore the ins and outs of PostgreSQL clustering, including the benefits and challenges of different clustering approaches, and how to set up a highly available and disaster-resilient PostgreSQL cluster.
We will dive into topics such as synchronous vs. asynchronous replication, load balancing, failover, and disaster recovery. We will also touch on some open source tools that are readily available to aid in PostgreSQL cluster management.About the speaker
Umair is a 20-year PostgreSQL veteran with extensive experience in solving real-world database problems. My commercial experience spans over two decades of professional services and product development in the PostgreSQL ecosystem. Being a recognized expert in PostgreSQL, I am a blogger and a regular speaker at conferences globally. I am the founder of Stormatics - a professional services company with a mission to help businesses use PostgreSQL reliably for their critical data workloads. My previous experience with commercial PostgreSQL consists of roles in major pure-play PostgreSQL organizations like EDB, 2ndQuadrant, OpenSCG, & Percona.
Agenda:
