A look at weather forecasting will cover the basics of thunderstorms, how to prepare for severe weather, and how to interpret radar data.
Located at Building E in the Seigle Auditorium. This free, brand new, and open-to-the public 2-hour in-person seminar will be given by an NWS meteorologist and cover the basics of thunderstorms, how to prepare for severe weather, and how to interpret radar data. Finally, participants will walk through a forecast scenario, going through a behind-the-scenes look at how NWS meteorologists craft a forecast. The seminar will be appropriate for anyone over the age of 12 who has an interest in weather and community preparedness.
