About us
This group is for vegetarians and vegans in the Chicagoland-area who are in their 20’s-40’s. We’ll gather at various social events so everyone can meet other like-minded individuals following a plant-based diet. Please do not join the group if you don’t follow a vegetarian or vegan diet and/or are outside of the suggested age-range. All gender preferences and identifications are welcome!

Kale My Name Dinner/Observatory Viewing, Speed Friending, and Karaoke Options

Kale My Name (KMN) is an award-winning, spacious, all-vegan restaurant with great service; lovely ambiance; a relaxed vibe; and ample appetizer, dinner, and drink (NA too) options!
Whole foods (e.g., lentil soup, kale) and juice/mocktails are favorites for health nuts there. Omnivores liked the burger and dips.
Please have a profile pic of you when you RSVP, and keep the RSVP updated, as space is limited. Around 10 attendees are likely with 30 RSVPs and the 30% attendance average in most veg groups lately.
Arrive at 7:00 for the best mixer seats (bar is backup). All y'all vegans/vegetarians and your guests are invited to optional informal speed friending (1.5-min intro from each attendee), which will begin at 8.
Optional karaoke and/or planet/star viewing trip prep will begin afterward. KMN closes at 10.
Weather-permitting, there may be a free a astronomer-hosted event at a nearby observatory. Otherwise, veg friendly karaoke is close!
Unfortunately, many vegan restaurants have closed, so I (Anu) encourage folks to support them when they can.
