See all- Crimes of the Future (2022)Alamo Cinema Drafthouse , Chicago , IL
Canadian director and beloved weirdo David Cronenberg always has something to say. He may add sexual organs to abdomens and create new gynecological tools, however in addition to being delightfully gross, they all come with a purpose. CRIMES OF THE FUTURE is his scathing and uncomfortable look at the art world, and just what he thinks they take too seriously. In the near-ish future, artists use their bodies as their medium for creation, and the public worships them for this indulgence. Not a classic body-horror, but also not for the squeamish.
