Chicago Jedi are taking part in the 2024 Joliet Library Star Wars Day. We will have a table set up in the auditorium of the Joliet Area Historical Museum where we will be teaching basic lightsaber technique, discussing basic costuming and answering questions about the Jedi path. Chicago Jedi in Jedi garb (see later about costuming) will be taking part in the parade as well.
The general event takes place from 11:00 a.m. at the start of the parade and goes through 4:00 p.m., but we have a booth in the basement of the Historical Museum and will be setting up earlier, and taking down for a little while afterwards
Set-up is on Saturday morning and the doors open at 7am to start bringing in our gear.
Parade begins at 11am sharp. Be there early enough (10:30 to 10:45am) to get placement.

All events close up at 4pm and we must be completely cleared out of the museum by 5pm, help breaking down will be appreciated.
We also need someone to be dedicated to taking pictures of the event.
For costuming, for this event we strive to be more close to cannon, but our goal is to be geniric Jedi that could still be expected to be part of the StarWars universe. Be easily recognizable as a Jedi (or Sith).
