What we’re about
We are a group of enthusiastic readers from different sexual orientations (Bi, Gay, Lesbian, Trans, questioning), different ages, and diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We embrace diversity in all its forms. We share eclectic tastes in literature. We read everything from the most popular bestsellers to the odd and obscure; across all genres of fiction and non-fiction. We read to explore the variety of the human experience. Our book club is a place where we learn from each other and freely express our views. We select thought-provoking, challenging, but also fun books. Join us every month for a lively discussion, followed by dinner/drinks at Wilde Bar.

When Benji meets Jake at an airport, all he expects is a steamy night together. But when Benji falls for Jake, he embarks on a romantic journey that is fraught with complex power dynamics. After the two decide to only see each other once a month in an apartment in Amsterdam, Benji hopes this could lead to the relationship that he has longed for. But as time goes on, Benji becomes more curious about the reason for their infrequent meetings. Through retrospection, DEPARTURES shows the beauty, addictiveness, and pitfalls of what it is to love someone who may or may not love you back.
