Speakers:
🎤 Ifat Ribon (in person) - Fewer Tests, More Confidence
AI can write tests in seconds, but it can't tell you which ones matter (yet). This talk shows how Rails teams can build high-confidence test suites when AI generates most specs, using clear testing principles and practical guidelines to write fewer, better, and more maintainable tests.

About Ifat: Ifat is a Principal Architect at LaunchPad Lab in Chicago. She enjoys untangling complex problems, finding the right words for hard things, and helping teams make confident technical decisions. She’s a big fan of good abstractions, long runs along the lakeshore, and finding the signal in the noise.

🎤 Fito von Zastrow (remote) - Defying Gravity: Teaching AI to Write Better Ruby
Code reviews got slower after we introduced AI into our Ruby on Rails monolith. AI-generated code was making the legacy problems worse, not better. Technical debt, fat controllers, tests coupled to implementation. AI reproduced all of it, faster than ever. It's as if legacy code has gravity. In this talk, you’ll learn the concrete techniques we use in production: how to specify what you want, how to provide architectural guidance to agents, and how to use skills to put guardrails in place so feature work incrementally improves the codebase instead of reinforcing legacy patterns. Leave with everything you need to defy Legacy Gravity.

About Fito:
Fito von Zastrow is a Staff Software Engineer @ Cisco Meraki. He is a SF Bay Area transplant from Asunción, Paraguay. He enjoys hiking, watching soccer, video games, and pair-programming.

🎤 Noel Rappin (in person) - Inspector Gadget: Adventures in Agent Code Review

About Noel:
Noel Rappin is a Staff Engineer at Chime Financial. Noel has authored multiple technical books, including "Programming Ruby 4" "Modern Front-End Development For Rails" and "Rails 5 Test Prescriptions". He also hosted the podcast Tech Done Right.
