ChicagoRuby: Downtown @ Hindman Auctions - Getting Started with GraphQL Ruby

Details

Welcome to another edition of ChicagoRuby Downtown! This month Trevor Turk comes back to the ChicagoRuby stage to give a walkthrough of graphql-ruby.

Getting Started with GraphQL Ruby

SUMMARY:

An introduction to the server-side and client-side of GraphQL Ruby including best-practices for security and scalability.

AGENDA:

6:00 to 6:15 - Food & Mingling
6:15 to 7:45 - Presentation
after - Post meetup mingling @ Elephant & Castle

SPEAKER:

Trevor is a freelance software engineer with recent experience at IFTTT, Clearbit, and Basecamp.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES will be provided by our host, Hindman Auctions (https://hindmanauctions.com/). Here's a message they wanted to share:

"We are a 40 year old auction house that is amid a transformation from the analog ages into the digital future. We are about 200 strong in 8 locations, hosting auctions both in the flesh and online. On top of our wolf pack of three in-house dev's, two 8L'ers, a PM, and a PO, we are looking to add more fullstackers with reactive front-end and rails back-end experience to help with features related to our website, internal tools, SalesForce, inventory control, shipping, imaging, and bidding. We look forward to learning more about GraphQL with you and hopefully implementing it ourselves in 2020 :)"

Call Nicole (804) 501-8063 if you need help finding the space.
