The Chicago-Area Scala Enthusiasts (CASE) Meetup Group Monthly Meetup
Details
Meeting Topic: Scalatra with Ben Hardy
Bring your laptop for this Scalatra coding session! Ben writes:
"I'll demonstrate how to use Scalatra and sbt to quickly create a brand new web app from scratch, using sbt's continuous testing loop, which is pretty awesome.
Requirements: People would need to have SBT and git set up. I'll create a git repo online so folks can get started with a skeleton project. We'll create some controllers and pages, and if time allows, go into testing and database access with SLICK.
I'm a software developer at Braintree Payments here in Chicago. I've previously worked at Hulu, eHarmony and Google and a few startups nobody's heard of. Most of my work experience is in Java but I've also done a good chunk of Scala, some C#, and am currently writing mostly in Ruby at Braintree. When I code for fun, it's generally in Scala."
Note: As always, you must RSVP with a real name (or email it to us separately) so we can give your name to the building security ninjas in order to enter the building. Please do so by noon so we can order the right amount of food. Thanks!
