Details
It's summer, which means it's time to take our hikes to higher elevations and cooler temperatures! Let's get a group together to hike Deer Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail is an out and back, six miles in total with 1,394 feet of elevation gain. There's a lookout with beautiful views of the park at the top.

We'll go slow and take plenty of breaks along the way. Please note the start time! We're starting early to get parking and beat the need for a timed entry pass, and to get the coolest part of the day.
Notes:
- Rocky Mountain National Park does require an entry fee. We'll carpool to reduce the number of passes we need. I have an annual pass and can take three more people in my car. If anyone else has a pass and/or is willing to drive, please comment in the event!
- Dogs are not allowed in RMNP.
- We'll wait for 10 minutes at the parking lot in Boulder and then head off.
- On the way back, let's stop at the Colorado Cherry Company in Lyons for well-earned treats!
