Welcome to the Childfree Friends in Sheffield meetup! This group is for people aged 30-49 who want to celebrate life without the responsibilities of children and acknowledge all the other things our lives consist of. We gather to enjoy conversations over food, explore the arts and entertainment scene, and soaking in different cultural experiences. Connect with fellow members who enjoy coffee catch ups during the week, staying out late and lazy Sundays because we can.
This group is for people who chose not to be parents and don't have to orient their lives around children or young people. We are treated differently by society, our choices often questioned and patronised: "Why?? You'll change your mind someday" "won't you regret not having kids?" "who will take care of you when you're old" etc etc. If you have kids or your partner has kids, or your kids are now adults, you're not going to experience those things so this group won't be right for you. Thanks for understanding. If you are 80% sure you don't want kids but may be you will someday, again, this group is not for you.
We have regular meet-ups for childfree people of colour. If you don't see any in the calendar, DM me and maybe we can co-host one.
