Welcome to the Childfree Friends in Sheffield meetup! This group is primarily for people aged 30-49 (but we aren't that strict !) who want to celebrate life without the responsibilities of children and acknowledge all the other things our lives consist of. We gather to enjoy conversations over food, a few drinks, explore the arts and entertainment scene, and soaking in different cultural experiences. Connect with fellow members who enjoy coffee catch ups during the week, staying out late and lazy Sundays because we can.
This group is for people who chose not to be parents and don't have to orient their lives around children or young people. We are treated differently by society, our choices often questioned and patronised: "Why?? You'll change your mind someday" "won't you regret not having kids?" "who will take care of you when you're old" etc etc. If you have kids or your partner has kids, or your kids are now adults, you may not find this group is not for you, we live in a different mind set. We have open conversations about being childfree, nobody has to share their reasons of course but this is our space and should be respected. Thanks for understanding.
