About us
Welcome to the Childfree by choice Friends in Sheffield meetup! This group is primarily for people aged 30-49 (but we aren't that strict, if you are child free in your 20s or 50s and like the events, come along!). This is not a dating meet up!!!!
This group is a safe space to make friends, if you want to talk to people, please come to events, do not direct message them. Any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Please ensure you join the group before attending. Events are for members only!!!
We gather to enjoy conversations over food, drinks in adult venues. We explore the arts and entertainment scene, and soaking up different cultural experiences. Connect with fellow members who enjoy coffee catch ups during the week, staying out late and lazy Sundays because we can.
This group is for people who chose not to be parents and don't have to orient their lives around children or young people. We have open conversations about being childfree by choice - nobody has to share their reasons of course. This is primarily our space and should be respected. Thanks for understanding.
This group is still inclusive, but some parents or people who are childless not by choice may find it isn't for them. No under 18s are allowed for obvious reasons. if you have any questions or concerns or suggestions for events, drop me (Kerry) a message.

A walk in Blackamoor Nature Reserve and Totley Moors- 7 miles
Location not specified yetWe start from the Cross Scythes pub in Totley, making our way through Gilleyfield Wood, then proceeding to Totley Moor trig point whilst taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Peak District. Upon reaching Blackamoor nature reserve for a brief rest, we saunter through the reserve, admiring the wildlife and, if we are lucky, spotting the local Deer wandering the Totley Moors
The weather forecast is bright sunshine all day, but cold; therefore, please wrap up warm.
History
Blackamoor Nature Reserve's history spans from the 13th century, when the land was granted to monks who developed a farmstead, to its 20th-century gifting to the City of Sheffield by philanthropist J. G. Graves in the 1930s to be preserved in its natural state. It was subsequently managed by various entities, including the Duke of Norfolk for grouse shooting, before being gifted to the city for public enjoyment and protection from development. The Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust has managed the reserve since 2001, ensuring its continued conservation.
Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year, with enough layers, sun protection if required, a waterproof, as well as food and water.
Transport- 97 Totley takes you to the Cross Scythes pub from city centre, - please refer to bus timetable to arrive on time. We will meet at the Cross Scythes pub at 1pm.
