New Years Resolution Social
Details
Did you know that getting out and socialising is not just good for your mental heath, but it has been linked to better outcomes for your physical health? Interacting with others is essential for a balanced lifestyle and we should always make time for it.
So, my challenge to you is to make getting out there your New Years Resolution. If you've never attended one of our events before, this is the perfect chance. If you are a returning member, we're more than happy to have you of course.
We'll be hanging out in the downstairs room at Bridge End Social for some light conversation, games and maybe a drink.
FAQ
Should I come with someone?
This isn't at all necessary - the vast majority of members turn up by themselves for the first time and it's normal to not know anyone else in the group at first. However, you can bring up to 5 guests if you'd like, as long as you add the +1s to your RSVP.
I feel nervous about attending, any advice?
Please don't be, there will be other people in the same shoes as you and attending for the first time. Although it can seem daunting, you'll soon find you had nothing to worry about. If the number of people seems intimidating, arrive 10-15 minutes early so you are amongst the first to arrive and can settle in before everyone else turns up.
is there a dress code / do I need to bring anything / anything else I need to know?
Nope you can just turn up. There's no dress code and no need to bring anything except an open mind. Apart from that, I highly recommend arriving within the first 30 minutes for the best experience and being ready to start at least some conversations yourself.
How to get here
Bridge End Social is just slightly south from the main part of the city centre. It's a 5 minute walk from all train and bus connections. If you're driving, you can use one of the various multi-storey car parks nearby, or if you're OK with walking a little bit further (around 10 mins) you can park at Crown Point Shopping Centre for free for 3 hours.
Afterwards
If you'd like to stick around after the event, the bar upstairs should be open for the rest of the evening or alternatively head back over the river for food at Trinity Kitchen or a drink at the many bars around the city centre.
