Chilled Out Meetups is one of Leeds biggest groups organising social events for 18 to 38 year olds. Thinking about joining or have recently become a member? See essential information for new members by clicking this link.
Our events include an organised walk every other week (over summer), coffee and drinks socials, women-only events and one off visits to destinations in Leeds and sometimes further out. We also run 'one off' events from time to time, and hope to add more types of activities in future.
Are you in charge of a venue or other potential event destination? We'd love to hear from you about working together to put on a Meetup. In return for a space, we can offer a large group of new customers and potentially repeat business in the form of one our regular events. Feel free to send us a message.
ORGANISERS WANTED - Our group is co-owned equally by its organisers. Most decisions are made by organizers giving unanimous approval. If you're interested in running events let us know, no matter what type of event you want to do - remember as an organiser you decide the time, place and activity.
We are fully committed to everyone feeling safe and secure at events so there will be zero tolerance for any harassment, unwanted attention or any other disrespectful behavior. This is a space without any kind of prejudice including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia etc. and this includes 'jokes' and 'memes', please take it elsewhere. We may organise women-only events - if this is a problem then this isn't the right group for you.
You can make a donation to the group here.
If you treat others with kindness and use some common sense you should get along fine here, but if you'd like to check our rules and policies you can see them here.
Have questions about something not detailed in the new member guide or rules? You will probably find answers in our FAQ here.
Our financials are kept open for public viewing. You can see the ledger here.

Dishoom - 50% off food (read description first)
Dishoom Leeds, 68-78 Vicar Lane, LS1 7JH, Leeds, GBWe're trying out a new RSVP policy to make the most of the available slots. Before you RSVP, you should ensure you qualify for a space. This is to ensure the people in the attending list will be people who actually show up.
To qualify:
- Be in the INNER CIRCLE group chat, or alternatively...
- You must have attended (not just RSVPed) an event within the last 6 months
- And you must have not have no showed (RSVPed but failed to show up) to an event within the last 3 months
To prevent disappointment, please only RSVP if you qualify. We will manually cancel your RSVP if necessary. Apologies to new members this doesn't include, there's always next time.
If you will no longer be attending, you must change your RSVP at least 24 hours before the start of the event, otherwise not attending will be counted as a no show.

Dishoom might be one of the mostly hotly anticipated openings coming to Leeds in recent years. This Indian restaurant boasts a laser focused menu of Desi style food, taking some cues from both Indian street food and BIR cuisine we're all familiar with.
They're well renowned for two things: Firstly serving quality food, and secondly their famous lunchtime offer - repeat guests are given a dice token, then on your next visit before 5pm weekdays you roll a die and if you roll a 6 your meal is completely free. Yes, seriously.
Chilled Out Meetups has secured a deal for 50% off food meaning you can experience this restaurant at excellent value. Find out more by taking a look at the menu.
Note: No +1s sorry, this is again due to limited slots. If you RSVP was cancelled please read the top of the description for the reason.

Trivial Pursuit
Leeds City Museum, Millenium Square, LS2 8BH, Leeds, GBOnce again, Leeds is turning into a giant board game, this time themed around Trivial Pursuit. 🧀 If you attended the previous Monopoly event you'll know what to expect. We'll do a tour of attractions around the city centre and you can complete the challenge - or just relax and check out the sights.
Find out more about the event on the official website here.
We'll meet outside the front entrance to the Royal Armouries and take it from there...
- ⚔️ Royal Armouries (History) - Grab a game card if you want to play!
- 🎨 Leeds Corn Exchange (Art & Literature)
- 🐝 Victoria Gate (Science & Nature)
- 🎭 Trinity Leeds (Entertainment)
- 🗺️ Wellington Place (Geography)
- ⚽ Merrion Centre (Sports & Leisure)
- 🏁 Leeds City Museum (Central Hub)
⚠️ This event takes place over a large area, potentially with quite a few people. Make sure you get prepared with the following steps so everyone can have a great time. ⚠️
- Being in the WhatsApp group chat will be essential to know where to go and when, especially if you end up separated from the group. Kris will not be monitoring Meetup comments and messages - you need to join the chat. After you RSVP a secure invite link will appear in the comments. (Remember: You can mute and archive the chat until the event so you don't get spam)
- The event involves a lot of walking so bring the essentials with you: Comfy footwear, a waterproof (especially if rain is forecast) and water.
- You can leave at any time, but if you want to stay with the group, follow the leader. If you're not with Kris, you're in the wrong place. Be mindful of who you're following and why.
- Look out for each other. If you see someone in the group chat who needs help, answer them rather than expecting someone else to do it.
As always, the event will be rescheduled if the weather forecast is very bad - intermittent light rain is not very bad. Please no unsolicited weather updates in the comments/chat, these are usually just fear mongering and the host will take care of these concerns. Unless anything to the contrary is posted here, you can assume the event is still happening.
