Fall Activity Day

This year the club is returning to the ocean-side Colt State Park in Bristol, RI. September 10, 2022. This venue has wide open fields and historic woods directly on Narragansett Bay. Details are being finalized. The day will begin at 10 AM with coffee supplied by the club. In the morning, there's an easy 3-4-mile hike around the park or biking on nearby East Bay Bike Trail. Everyone will gather for lunch at 1 PM. Present plans are for a potluck lunch with the club supplying and cooking chicken and veggie burgers on the grill. Bring along a salad, side dish, or dessert to share with everyone. After lunch there will be croquet on the lawns and kite flying. Have other ideas for games, bring them along, frisbee, kites etc. The park is dog friendly! Cost for the day is $10 including lunch cost and coffee.

Driving directions:

These directions are from the entrance to the Colt State Park from Hope Street, Bristol Rhode Island. Be aware your GPS may take you to a different entrance. So you might want to put 1070 Hope Street Bristol RI into your GPS which is the address to a house opposite the entrace to the park (Asylum Road). Enter the park and go straight. Follows The road as it bear to the left. You will see a sign that says...Colt State Park. Drive until you come to a circle where you will see a small gray shack. Head straight so that the shack is on your left as you pass it. Soon the road is along the water. Eventually you’ll see a sign that has a bunch of different sites listed on the left side of the road. One of those sites is 37 which is ours. You will need to make a left at the point and look for the Chiltern Banner at site 37. If you don't find it immediately, you can call Bruce Fischer 401-743-0628
