Biotech Fermenter: December Edition
Monday Blues, 6651 N Clark St, Chicago, IL, USNetwork over a drink with Chicago's biotechnology professionals and build a community of biotechnologists, entrepreneurs, investors, and enthusiasts. We are excited to be continuing our series of networking opportunities and to discuss challenges, opportunities, and frustrations of working in biotechnology while enjoying an evening with your professional peers from around Chicagoland.
We're returning to Monday Blues up in Rogers Park so we can have the event right across from the lab to combine it with a holiday spectacular. If anyone is interested, we're going to have about 40 plates and some colorful bacterial plates across the street at ChiTownBio (6634 N. Clark Street) so people can decorate petri dishes and get some end of year crafts in. We'll make sure to document the pictures and let everyone see their creations. If that's not your style, we'll continue our series of laid back networking at Monday Blues Lounge, Rogers Park's favorite blues bar.
The Biotech Fermenter is an event that is open to everyone, and the organizers strongly believe that working in a biotechnology future should be accessible to all Chicagoans, regardless of race, gender expression, sexual identity, national origin, or any other protected class. January Pre-Fermenter Treat
Four Star Mushrooms, 320 North Oakley Boulevard, Chicago, IL, USJust like every month, we're inviting everyone excited about biotechnology in the Chicagoland area to come and mingle with other bioenthusiasts and bioprofessionals at our monthly Biotech Fermenter. But as a special treat for the new year, we reached out to Four Star Mushrooms, a company producing fungi at a state of the art facility in West Town. Four Star Mushrooms is building an integrated food ecosystem through the marriage of controlled-environment and regenerative agriculture. Their brand cultivates premium quality gourmet and functional mushrooms that we distribute directly to restaurants, hotels, caterers, clubs, and grocers across Chicagoland.
Join us for a treat before we have a night of networking at the wonderful Midwest Coast Brewing and go on a tour of a prime example of a biotechnology startup that's making waves in Chicagoland.
Please remember that while this is not the Fermenter itself, we want to keep the inclusive nature of the Fermenter. Accordingly, this event is open to everyone, and the organizers strongly believe that working in our biotechnology future should be accessible to all Chicagoans, regardless of race, gender expression, sexual identity, national origin, or any other protected class. BioTech Fermenter: Chicago's Biotechnology Meetup
Midwest Coast Brewing Company, 2137 W Walnut St, Chicago, IL, USNetwork over a drink with Chicago's biotechnology professionals and build a community of biotechnologists, entrepreneurs, investors, and enthusiasts. We're continuing our series of networking opportunities to discuss challenges, opportunities, and frustrations while enjoying an evening with your professional peers from around Chicagoland.
For the new year, we're doing something really different. At 6:00, join us for a tour of Four Star Mushroom, a local biotech startup that is focused on growing the future of culinary innovation in Chicago. Then, join us afterwards at 6:30 at Midwest Coast Brewing for our usual Fermenter. Midwest Coast makes beers that support that hard-working and coastal lifestyle of Chicago, slipping into and out of any moment. Their taproom is an amazing space, and we're lucky to be having our event where great beer is made (And a 7 minute walk from the Damen Green Line stop). Between Mushrooms and Beer, we're going to be looking at two wonderful forms of mycological biotechnology for the night, and we're excited to have you join in!
