COVID Convos: A Virtual Townhall with Ellen Jorgensen

During this pandemic, ChiTownBio is excited to be continuing the conversation about biotechnology, citizen science, and desinging our future, even if we are stuck in isolation! Join us as we host a series of townhall discussions with experts and luminaries where we can talk about the world of biotechnology in the future.

ChiTownBio is excited to announce our first guest for our COVID Convos series: Dr. Ellen Jorgensen.

Dr. Ellen Jorgensen is the Chief Science Officer at Aanika Biosciences, Inc., a biotech startup that uses customized microbial-based tags to allow companies more insights about their supply chains, help their customers with transparency, and increase sustainability. She is an inspiration to many in the citizen science movement and is passionate about increasing science literacy for everyone, particularly in the areas of molecular and synthetic biology. She has been a key player in establishing multiple organizations trying to democratize biotechnology and increase access to the biosciences. Dr. Jorgensen’s two TED talks (Biohacking: You Can Do It Too and What You Need To Know About CRISPR) have received over two million views.
