The concept is simple: every great idea benefits from both encouragement and honest feedback.🔥 The Roast is the constructive part — thoughtful questions, alternative perspectives, identifying blind spots, challenging assumptions, and helping presenters think through problems.
👏 The Toast is the celebration part — recognising what's working, highlighting strengths and opportunities, and sharing useful resources, connections, or introductions.
The goal isn't to tear ideas down. It's to help people leave with new insights, useful connections, and practical next steps.🚀 Roast & Toast Format
We’ll have 4–5 innovators, each with up to 10 minutes to introduce an idea, project, startup, or challenge they're currently working through.

You don't need a perfectly polished pitch or slide deck. The form simply helps you tell us:
- what you're working on;
- where you're currently at;
- what challenge or question you're trying to solve;
- what you'd particularly like the room to Roast; and
- where you'd like a Toast, opportunity, resource, or connection.
We'll use that information to help guide the conversation on the night so you're getting feedback that's actually useful to you.
👥 After each pitch, we'll open things up to the room for constructive feedback, questions, ideas, resources, and introductions.
