The best exercise for speaking is speaking!

Christchurch Speakers knows that many people have a fear of speaking but with heaps of encouragement and a light-hearted and supporting environment - public speaking can be not only fun but your super power!

The format is simple - icebreaker question, speeches, readings, impromptu speaking and other no-prep-required speaking opportunities. If you want to deliver a speech, excellent! If you want to recite a poem, a passage from a book or article, we will slot you in. If you want to turn up and see what happens, that's great too. But remember, you can't get good at what you don't do.

Organised by Mark Baker and MC'ed by Rob Woolley, these two experienced speakers have worked with all levels of speakers for almost 20 years. If you are an experienced speaker and want some practice or feedback, rock on up and let us know. If you are an inexperienced speaker and want to gain confidence, we will give you something that matches your ability.

Format:
Welcome,
Icebreaker (round the room simple question - one or two sentence answers),
Speeches,
Readings,
Workshop (usually focussed on one aspect of speaking),
Break,
Impromptu Speaking of various types.

Who's it for? Anyone who wants to improve their confidence or competence as a speaker. You will meet people of all ages, all nationalities, all abilities, all walks of life - everyone's welcome.

Everyone gets feedback and the meetings are recorded for attendees only to view to see what they looked and sounded like. It's an excellent resource and it's not made public.

Please bring a $5 donation to help pay the bills and tea and coffee and biscuits provided. What more could you ask for? :)

If you have any questions please contact Rob Woolley at rbwoolley@gmail.com or Mark Baker mandhbaker@outlook.com
