Christian Mystics value direct experience of God. A real experience of God changes you to the core. If God's love is just a mental concept, most beliefs or disciplines do not hold. But when God truly comes in, you'll know for yourself what is real and no one can take that away from you.
Christian Mystics must learn real prayer, meditation, and be brought into experiences through those who have been taught themselves.
Jesus walked the spiritual path, carving out a perfect pattern so that we could follow in his footsteps. We are supposed to be like Jesus in every way. A tall order if taken seriously. Christian Mystics do. We are not interested in shallow statements of belief or rules, but in doing the real work, that is, getting close enough to God, for the Light to shake loose everything we think, so that God can create a new path within us.
