Discussion Series: Blow Out (Theme: Background Checks)

This is the 3rd of a 3 part discussion series labelled Background Checks. This meetup will focus on Brian De Palma's Blow Out, and the themes and motifs present in this and the previous two films, Blow-Up and The Conversation.

All of these films feature a protagonist who believes to have captured a murder in the background of their medium, be it photography or audio recording. Blow-up and The Conversation were both awarded the Palme d'Or at Cannes in their respective years.

I hope to continue these series throughout the year to tackle a theme or motif present in a set of films to analyze their impact on each other.
