November 2025 CINLUG Meeting -- How Open Source Transformed 3D Printing
Moser Consulting, 6220 Castleway West Drive, Indianapolis, in, USDo you know of the profound impact that Open Source Software has had on the 3D printing industry?
Chen Lee Chiu[1] will take us on an exploration of how open source contributions have been instrumental in the widespread availability and affordability of consumer-grade 3D printers. His talk will trace the journey from the early days of 3D printing, highlighting key milestones and the evolution of these devices. He'll also briefly discuss the historical patent wars that stifled innovation by major corporations.
All this... at Central Indiana Linux User Group's Wednesday, November 5th meeting! The meeting starts at 18:30 (6:30 PM) EST.
CINLUG thanks Moser Consulting for hosting our meetings at their facility[2]. (There will be a phone number at the entrance to call to be let into the building.)
