City of Ridgefield Dragon Boat Paddles

PADDLES UP! The City of Ridgefield invites you to paddle. Join us in our 4th season of recreational paddling on Lake River. We love to teach! You’ll learn the art of the stroke and the synchronicity of paddling in community. Our Kaoshiung Boats are 40ft long and 5 ft wide . Offering incredible stability.

Free and inclusive ! Everyone is welcome. No experience needed. Minimun age 18. Gear provided.

WE ALWAYS NEED VOLUNTEERS to help check gear out to paddlers and sign waivers at the container. Or to lead a 10” warm up before paddling. And we especially need 8 paddlers to paddle our boats to the public dock.

5:00: Volunteers Please Arrive. Meet at gray container. Need 8 paddlers with experience to paddle boats to the dock.

5:30: Need 2 volunteers for the container. Welcoming paddlers , checking out gear and waivers.

5:45-6:00 Paddlers check in at container and get your gear. Sign a waiver if you haven’t.

6:00 Circle up at the flag pole for stroke instruction and bench assignments.

6:30 Load Boats

6:45-7:45 Paddle

7:45 return to the dock.

Join us on our Kaohsiung Dragon Boats for our 15th Annual Big Paddle Celebrating National Trails Day and our 32-mile Lewis River to Vancouver Lake Water Trail.

8:30 Arrive. Check in for signed waivers/ gear.
9:00 Safety check and load into boats
9:30 Paddle to Division St/ ceremony
10AM Historical Cultural Interpretive Paddle to the Confluence of the Columbia River begins.
11:30-12:00 Return to dock.

Age Minimum: 14

WHAT TO BRING/ Consider layering your quick dry clothing. Wear stable rubber soled footwear and please bring a water bottle.
