City Walk Willow Water Hole, 6.2 miles
Details
Today's walk covers new ground for us at the Willow Water Hole, a large, new flood control structure and walking area. Beginning at the church, we will see the mouldering remains of Westbury Square, the newest, coolest thing in 1974. Time has not been kind to Westbury Square. Next, a short neighborhood walk and then the lakes and greenspaces of the Willow Water Hole structures which are intended to keep the flood waters at bay. That is one to watch for. Afterward we will gather at Watershed, a place Henry D. turned up. Should be fun!
Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. The heat in Texas is always a concern so let someone know if you are having a hard time. For more information about hiking check out this very useful hiking website: https://www.hatsandmore.org/
Our organizers are not guides nor do we have any special training. We are here to come up with hiking ideas and get the hike started. Take the same precautions you would if hiking alone, including the fitness needed to make long hikes. Then enjoy the hike among friends.
