City Walk Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, 6.0 miles
Details
Bayou Bend was the home of Ima Hogg, Houston philanthropist and founder of the Houston Symphony. Built in 1926 by John Staub the house and 14-acre grounds was one of the first homes built in Miss Ima's two brothers' new development, River Oaks. Part of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the property is now home to Miss Hogg's collection of decorative art and furniture and hosts a variety of public events with the help of 250 volunteers. Admission is free today on one of the museum's free Family Day events. We finish with a walk through the Eastern Glades part of the park. And a nice cool down afterwards at Beck's to watch the sun set. What a great way to end the weekend!
