Civic hacknight #167 with Haman Mamdouhi: Health-Bridge

Details

  • Presenter:

Haman Mamdouhi, Founder of Health-Bridge

http://health-bridge.ca/

Imagine if your grandmother, who doesn’t speak a word of English, fell down and broke her hip. You are able to call an ambulance to her house, but cannot make it there in time to translate for the paramedics.

Enter Health-Bridge, an image based diagnostic tool for non-English speaking patients, founded by Haman Mamdouhi and his team with the goal of eliminating the language barrier in healthcare.

  • Venue Sponsor:

Connected is our venue and food sponsor for November 2018!
They are a development firm that works with different companies to "build products that drive user and business impact."

A big thank-you to Connected for providing us with an awesome venue (their Toronto office) and for all the delicious food.
This week we'll be enjoying Thai food from Urban Thai!

  • Check-in details:

Take the elevators to the 3rd floor of 370 King St. West. If you run into any issues, then please send a message to our "doorbell" at 780-652-2649 (780-6LAB-6IX), and the organizers will get a notification.

  • Accessibility:

The venue is accessible, but entering the building can be tricky. There are two ways to enter 370 King St:

  1. If you are entering from 370 King Street, there is a lift available with instructions on the lift and a number to call the Security Officer on duty to assist with access.
  2. If you do not want to use the lift, you can also enter behind the building through the accessible Widmer St. entrance, then navigate to the elevators.
  • About Us:

Our weekly civic tech hacknights bring together designers, coders, urban planners, government staff, mappers, policy-makers, students, communications strategists, and all other Torontonians who share an interest in making Toronto more responsive, prosperous, sustainable and equitable, through design, tech, and data. (Coders are welcome, but you don’t have to be a coder to contribute!) Come and be part of it!

  • Agenda:

6:30-7: Welcome and intros
7-7:30: Presentation and Q&A/discussion
7:30-9: Breakout groups (make something!)
