The Rumie Initiative is a non-profit that designs technology to mobilize the power of collaboration to improve access to quality digital learning resources, especially for those with little or no Internet connectivity. https://www.rumie.org/

Civic tech members are invited to participate in a special problem-solving workshop with Rumie during the hacknight portion of the evening!

Come help us chip away at civic problems by combining technology with the power of our community. We've got everything you need for a perfect Tuesday night: a presentation to learn from, some projects to work on, and pizza (or other food) to snack on!

Kyle focuses on human-centered design and lean development to help companies build and grow higher quality products. Kyle currently leads product at The Rumie Initiative, a non-profit that is designing a world where everyone has equal access to learning. Kyle believes many of today’s challenges are rooted in a fundamental digital divide and is driven to improve life in the offline world using the online one.

Our weekly civic tech hacknights bring together designers, coders, urban planners, government staff, mappers, policy-makers, students, communications strategists, and all other Torontonians who share an interest in making Toronto more responsive, prosperous, sustainable and equitable, through design, tech, and data. (Coders are welcome, but you don’t have to be a coder to contribute!) Come and be part of it!
