Topic: Introducing Tech Stewardship

  • Introducing Tech Stewardship practice as a professional identity, orientation and practice that can support us to help bend the arc of technology towards good. Also exploring how Tech Stewardship can be introduced to teams, organizations or communities.

Speaker: Mark Abbott

  • Mark Abbott, P.Eng., MBA, is an Ashoka Fellow who currently serves as the Director of the Engineering Change Lab (ECL) and the Director of Tech Stewardship at MaRS Discovery District. Previously, Mark served as a member of the Executive Team at Engineers Without Borders for several years. And before that, Mark spent fourteen years working for a heavy industrial consulting engineering firm based in Vancouver.

Join us in person:

  • We're meeting at the office of the Ontario Digital Service at 595 Bay St. Suite 1002. Take the elevator to the 10th floor.
  • Enter using the doors on Bay St., just north of Dundas. A volunteer from Civic Tech Toronto will be waiting near the elevators on your right!

  • 7:00-7:20 = Welcome and Introductions
  • 7:20-7:50 = Presentation and Q&A/discussion
  • 7:50-9:00 = Breakout groups
