Topic: An Analytical Deep-Dive Into the 2023 Mayoral By-Election

  • What can the results of the recent mayoral election tell us about what Torontonians think? In this session, we will dissect the vote breakdown shifts from the previous election, examining what candidate support patterns reveal about evolving voter attitudes towards key city issues. Come prepared to delve into the intersection of data, politics, and public sentiment in shaping Toronto's future.

Speaker: Alex Olson

  • Alex Olson is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Toronto's Centre for Analytics and AI Engineering (CARTE). Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students, Alex explores innovative ways to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their work. He is dedicated to advancing cutting-edge applied AI research and promoting the practical implementation of AI solutions.

  • We're meeting in Room 480 of the Myhal Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto (55 St. George Street, north of College St.). There will be signs!
