The Clear Creek Makerspace is one of Colorado’s largest makerspaces and among Metro Denver’s go-to destinations for hands-on DIY and creative expression. Located in the heart of Wheat Ridge, just 15 minutes from downtown Denver, we offer 7,500 square feet of space designed to help you make (almost) anything you can imagine!
What’s a makerspace? Just think of us as a gym for your creative muscles. We provide affordable access to high-tech tools that you might not have at home. Got a hankering to laser-etch your face onto toast? We’ve got you covered. Want to 3D print a realistic replica of your cat? Meow you’re talking. During this free tour, you'll get an inside look at our massive 7,500-square-foot facility in the heart of Wheat Ridge, just 15 minutes from downtown Denver.

During the tour, our team will guide you through our three primary workshops:
- A state-of-the-art 1100 sq. ft. Fab Lab featuring laser cutters, 3D printers, electronics stations, and tons of crafting equipment
- A fully-equipped 1500 sq. ft. Woodshop with everything from hand tools and table saws to large CNC routers
- A comprehensive 1000 sq. ft. Metal Shop packed with welders, mills, lathes, and plasma cutters. You'll learn about our affordable membership options, upcoming workshops, and the vibrant maker community you can be part of. Whether you're interested in small-scale crafting or building life-size metal dinosaurs, this tour will show you how Clear Creek Makerspace can bring your creative ideas to life.
The best part? This event is free and open to all members of the public. No prior making experience required – just bring your curiosity and your questions!fy

👋 Jenny McManus is the assistant manager at Clear Creek Makerspace. Jenny brings over six years of experience in arts, events, culture and theatre, and is deeply passionate about empowering others to be creative. She has worked with Meow Wolf Denver, Lumonics Light & Sound Gallery, and a wide variety of Denver creatives.
Outside the makerspace, Jenny enjoys Hip Hop, Jazz music, and any other artform which elevates the mind! She goes roller skating twice a week, and is a passionate learner of string figures, learning many cat's cradle shapes created by peoples all around the globe.━━━━━━━━━━━PLEASE NOTE!━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ready to learn the basics of oxy-acetylene welding and cutting? Come familiarize yourself with basic safety and setup of oxygen and acetylene gas tanks, and welding, cutting, and bending metal using a torch.
SHOP140: Intro to Oxygen Acetylene (OAW) Welding will cover the basics, spark up the flame, and spark your DIY skills! This 2 hour class and aims to be a crash course that will have you welding like a pro in no time.
In this class, you’ll be introduced to the set up and safety of welding and cutting with a torch. Whether you're a beginner looking to get started or a seasoned DIYer wanting to sharpen your skills, our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way.
Oxy-acetylene torch welding is one of the oldest welding processes, widely used for welding thin metal sections and for heating and cutting tasks. It is a flexible and forgiving process, making it a great fit for amateur to expert welders, and easily adaptable to art fabrication and sculpture.
Expect to get hands on with a torch and a few tips. By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with newfound or developed skills and the confidence to take on the OAW Make Something classes for cool projects to take something home.

- Learning the lingo that'll make you sound like a welding wizard - OAW welder components and their functions
- Additional materials used for OAW welding (Filler rods, firing bricks)
· Preparing your workspace and equipment for welding
OAW Welding Best Practices- Knowing where your flame and hoses are
- Important reminders for safe and effective welding
- Setting up, cleaning up, and storing your stuff
What you'll learn:
- Safety and proper set up of OAW tools and workspace
- The fundamentals of OAW welding
- Basic welds of like and differing metals
- Using filler rod for function and for art
- Basic cuts

This class is the first step in using our Eastwood Elite 4'x4' CNC Plasma Table, covering the fundamentals of operation and setup for producing clean, precise cuts of parts and pieces. Whether you're brand new to CNC machinery or just new to plasma cutting, this course will give you the confidence to work with the machine safely and effectively.
Attendees will learn how to make cuts and configure the machine for varying material thicknesses, as well as understand how different materials may affect cut quality and speed. We will navigate through the menu options to ensure proper setup and use, including key settings you'll return to every time you run a job. By the end of the course, you will be able to make cuts using pre-loaded shapes from the machine's system library, setting you up with the foundational skills needed to take on more advanced projects down the road.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
