About us

Cleveland AI & Data MeetUp is dedicated to building community for those interested in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. Whether you're a veteran professional or looking to learn about the impacts of AI and Data in industry, we welcome you to our events. We focus on myriad content ranging from tutorials, workshops and presentations.

Over the years this group has evolved from the Cleveland Big Data MeetUp (formed 2010 by Doug Meil, https://www.meetup.com/cleveland-hadoop) and Cleveland AI MeetUp (formed by in 2017, https://www.meetup.com/cleveland-ai ), which merged to form Cleveland AI & Data in November 2024.

Code of Conduct:

Our Values:
- Be inclusive. Our 4,000+ members come from all backgrounds, experience levels, and industries. Treat everyone with respect โ€” in person, online, and everywhere in between.
- Be curious, not combative. Healthy debate about AI, data, and technology is encouraged. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- Respect the space. Our hosts and sponsors make these events possible. Take care of venues and help keep gatherings enjoyable for everyone.
- Share knowledge generously. This community thrives on learning. Bring your curiosity and contribute what you can โ€” whether you're presenting a talk or chatting at Happy Dog.
- Network naturally. Sharing your work and making connections is great. Aggressive recruiting or unsolicited sales pitches are not. Mentioning your startup or project? Absolutely fine. Cold-pitching mid-conversation? Please don't.

Unacceptable Behavior:
The following will not be tolerated at any Cleveland AI & Data event or community space:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
- Personal attacks, sustained disruption, or hostile conduct
- Unwelcome physical contact or verbal advances
- Sharing someone's private information without their consent
- Behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome

Scope:
This Code of Conduct applies to *all Cleveland AI & Data spaces* โ€” including in-person events, after-parties, online discussions, and any community-affiliated channels.

Reporting:
If something feels wrong, please reach out. You can contact an organizer in person at any event, or by email at info@cle-ai.com. All reports are handled confidentially. You will not face retaliation for reporting in good faith.

Enforcement:
Organizers will review reports and may take action including a verbal warning, removal from an event, or a ban from the community - depending on the severity and context of the situation.

Cleveland AI & Data is a community for everyone curious about where AI and data are taking us. Let's explore that future together โ€” openly, respectfully, and with good company.
