Guest speaker Meghan Harris will present at our October meetup.

Data validation is a very important component that should not be ignored when working in data analytics or data science. While there are many ways to perform data validation in R, this talk will explore Rich Iannone and Mauricio Vargas' pointblank package for this purpose. This talk will provide information on what data validation is, why it's important, and how R users can begin using the pointblank package to validate their own data in R. Participants can read more about the pointblank package here (https://rich-iannone.github.io/pointblank/)

Meghan Harris is a self-taught R user that is currently a Data Scientist at the PCCTC at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Meghan’s work allows her to work with data, create custom reports and dashboards, and various solutions using the R programming language daily. Meghan is an advocate for using open-source software when appropriate to encourage the development of programming skills, increased analysis/evaluation autonomy for agencies, and data literacy. In Meghan’s spare time, Meghan creates generative art in the R.

Note: this talk will be recorded and posted on our YouTube channel.
