Play It as it Lays (1972) at Cinematheque and Mitchell's after the film
The Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque, 11610 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH, USThe group might remember a 1968 film called the Swimmer (1968) we saw it on a Saturday night at Cinematheque and went to ABC Tavern afterwards. I deeply miss ABC Tavern and wish it was still around. Play it as It Lays is a 1972 film that is directed by Frank Perry who also directed the Swimmer. The film starts Tuesday Weld, who was also in Looking For Mr. Goodbar, and is based on a Joan Didion novel. The director, the actress, Joan Didion and the year is 1972 is more than enough for me to host this film. Please meet at the Cinematheque bench by 630 pm and we can go get Ice Cream after the film is over .
