Two years after her fiancé’s death, Hiroko visits his parents at their home. There, in an old high school yearbook, she comes across her deceased lover’s name – Itsuki Fujii - and the address where he lived in his youth. Itsuki’s mother tell her that their old home has long since been demolished to make room for a highway. Nevertheless, still mourning for Itsuki, Hiroko writes him a letter and mails it to the old address. She is astonished when she receives a reply. It turns out Hiroko’s letter made its way to another, female, student from Itsuki’s high school, who also happens to be named Itsuki Fujii. The two women then strike up a correspondence.
