FIVE EASY PIECES (1970) @ Cleveland Cinematheque / l'Albatros
Details
Filled with a sense of inadequacy and self-loathing, Bobby Dupea (Jack Nicholson) long ago traded his career as a classical pianist for a life working on California oil rigs by day and bowling and getting drunk with his buddy Elton and his waitress girlfriend Rayette (Karen Black) by night. When Bobby learns that his father has had two strokes, he travels to Washington state, Rayette in tow, to visit the dying man. There he is forced to confront both his past and his present.
