Grizzly (1976) a zoom discussion of schlock cinema
Details
Schlock comes from the yiddish term shlak that means cheap thrills with humor. I saw this film with my oldest sister Lori when I was nine years old. After I saw this film my mom pick us up from the movie theater and asked if anything was wrong ? I think I was really sick for a few days after watching this film. My mother thought it was a film about a cute bear instead the film was about Grizzly. Grizzly is the OG of bear films Cocain Bear is not even in his league. This film is what I would call 1970's schlock theater where directors made films that were something else. If this is your thing please join the discussion and bring your own list shlock cinema films. How in the world did this film get rated PG? What type of audience enjoyed this type of film?
