Hi everyone,
Just a reminder, that your dues of $5.00 are very important in  order for us to host directors coming into town and pay for the website.  Please select the link or pay your organizer AT THE NEXT GROUP EVENT if you haven't already.
Last Sunday, we had 10 moviegoers see the Trial of Joan of Arc.  It was a decent film and we had a great conversation afterward.  Sometimes I forget my own advice:  the best movies are the ones you don't know if you will like.  More often you do.
Then on Wednesday, we also saw The Petrified Forest.  We are very fortunate to have Calvin pick and show these great classics for free at Visible Voice Books.  The movie was wonderful and particularly noteworthy because Humphrey Bogart was a great gangster, not the romantic lead role that you would expect.  Can't wait to see what Calvin picks next month.  A really great time.
The Kid with the Bike is nearly sold out for Saturday but Renu has a waiting list for dinner.  You can always attend the movie even if you aren't able to join us afterward.
Next Friday, "This is Not A Film" is getting rave reviews.  This will be our 3rd Iranian film we will have seen this year.  Our record for Iranian films this year have been Excellent and Quite Good.  "Film" should continue that streak of truly amazing films.
This email is to announce two Tuesday movies that you will want to see.
In any normal year, Footnote might have won the nod for best picture if it wasn't for the once in a lifetime Iranian film, "A Separation".  Join us as we see this great Israeli film and confirm whether it was worthy of its many accolades.  Its about family, accomplishments, recognition and  jealousy.  Not to be missed.  May 1.
A movie about sushi sounds... ordinary.  But after I saw the previews and based on critic reviews, this is no dead fish story.  I can't imagine having to make reservations 3 months in advance for sushi, but Jiro's restaurant is that popular.  Even if you don't like sushi, how can you not appreciate the art of food making.  May 8.
I hope to see you at all these films!!!
While I appreciate all the people who help organize events, I am always looking for others to lead an event.  It is really quite easy and you get to pick the movie, time, place and eats place too.  If you would like to help out, please let me know.  Granted, the perks are limited (perhaps a free movie from time to time), but you would really be helping everyone out.
Other festivals going on (let me know if you are planning on attending).   In the month of April, there are 6 film festivals going on!!!.
APRIL 3-24, 2012 - Italian Film Festival at Case Western Strosacker Auditorium

APRIL 19-22, 2012 - Cleveland Urban Film Festival Shaker Square Cinemas

APRIL 21, 2012 - Reel Paddling Film Festival Kent Statue University
APRIL 25-MAY , 2012 - Canton Jewish film Festival at Canton Palace Theater
