Broken Embraces: Cedar Lee Theater / Sun Luck Cafe

Hello everyone

I hope you had a good new year.

There have been a number of Top 10 movie lists for 2009 and I am seeing a number of movies we saw as a group making the list. (Even A Serious Man, which I don't quite understand.) What were some of your favorite movies this year?

I saw Avatar this weekend. The visuals were great especially with the glasses, but the story line was very Hollywood. There isn't really anything to discuss except possibly how the storyline alludes to the war on terrorism, Blackwater and Native American treatment in our history.

Now for some movies that will certainly garner discussion:

1. Tuesday, We will be seeing "The Road". Try to have your RSVPs in by end of day Monday (today).

2. High Noon. A free movie at the Lakewood library. A classic. This Saturday

3. Amacord. Our last Fellini movie that takes on Mussolini facism. This Sunday.

4. Broken Embraces made a few Top 10 lists. I think you will really enjoy seeing it.
When: January 17,[masked]:00 PM

Cedar Lee Theater
