Softball Pick-up Games - IT'S ON! - SAT Jul 19 6-8p, planning next

First softball pick-up game tonight, July 19, 6-8p! If you're new or "not as good as you used to be," you'll fit right in.

Come hit some balls and run the bases - take advantage of this perfect weather tonight. Life is short...and so is summer !

Slow-pitch. Equipment provided, or bring your own.

Parking: The map leads you to the main Calvin parking lot. You can also park on streets, not fire hydrant side: Drexel is closest to the field. More: Seven Hills Blvd, Parkhaven & surrounding streets. Very nice neighbors are used to this.

Heat/safety: I'm bringing two 3-gal water dispensers, ice, and "Dixie cups." There is a water fountain by the (very nice!) bathrooms, including a bottle-filler. Will have a small first aid kit. Defib machine/box at bathoom. Field is little red gravel, not sand, so be careful if you slide.

Overcast, low 80s, no rain forescasted. Dugout seating has covers, and I'll bring extra ballcaps.

There is a "splash park," to cool off, near the parking lot - press the red button. Operating until 730p.

This first pick-up game all set for Sat, July 19, 6-8p. Next game?: What days/times work for you? Options are Sat's, Sun's, some Fri's - anytime thru 930p. One suggestion was Sun's, 730-930p.

We're starting with slow-pitch co-ed softball. I'm bringing 5 aluminum bats (various lengths/weights), 9 gloves (various sizes), 24 11" softballs, face & body protection for pitchers, catchers and umpires.

We can try regular baseball sometime, if enough people prefer that.

This is co-ed, or whatever works. For "adults" or capable of playing with adults. Many want to play, but say they're not as good as they used to be. Me, too! The idea is to have fun and enjoy the game - not hardcore competitive. Play at your own risk.
