See all- SPECIAL HIKE in collab with KNPS Rangers - Uiryeonggil - 20 participants MAX북한산우이역 2번출구, Seoul
Hello CIKers!
- FOREIGNERS/NON-KOREAN nationality only event-
We are sorry to our Korean CIK members, this experience was especially designed for our Foreigner friends as they would have difficulty to experience this trail by themselves, as you need to book online on a korean website. Thank you for your understanding and see you on another hike :-) )On Saturday 20th September, hike under the great guidance of Rangers of the Bukhansan Korea National Parks (KNPS). CIK is collaborating with the KNPS for this memorable hike program along the Uiryeong Trail. This will be a chill and easy hike with comments of the KNPS rangers.
- A FREE lunchbox will be offered to fill in our hungry stomachs ^^ (consists of a light sandwich with ham + vegetables and fruits --- No other options available)
IMPORTANT: Before registering, MAKE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND THIS EVENT, please let us know asap if have to cancel to give your spot to someone else :-)
About the trail:
- Uiryeong-gil is Section 21 of Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail along unpaved paths between Bukhansan to the south and Dobongsan to the north. Public access to the path was restricted due to the thwarted 1968 mission by 31 North Korean commandos to assassinate South Korean President Park Chung-hee, but the path was reopened in July 2009 under a reservation system. The natural ecosystem on this path has been well-preserved through about four decades of no human contact, and the gentle ascents and descents make Uiryeong-gil an easy walk.
- Once called Sogwijae Pass, Uiryeong-gil was an important link between the capital and the northern Gyeonggi-do region. The road was used to transport agricultural produce and daily necessities. Uiryeong-gil was used to evacuate Korean War refugees, and after the 1953 ceasefire, it was restricted for military use. It is famous for its autumn foliage.
