What better way to spend a long weekend than climbing at Arapiles.
So here's the plan.
Climb like crazy during the day, either top roping or awesome multi pitch climbs (depending on the amount of leaders coming along), then at night head into Natimuk, go for a swim or enjoy a beverage or two or hang out at the Pines among friends. Rinse and repeat for four days straight. Warning, the longer you spend at Araps the less likely you will want to leave. The place is amazing over long weekends - especially Cup weekend.
Departing Melbourne on Friday night and returning Tuesday afternoon (or earlier if you absolutely have to), we will camp at the Pines campground at the base of Mt. Arapiles. The climbing is spectacular at this time of year and if it gets too hot there a quite a few pleasant swimming holes to paddle in during the suns scorching desert heat.
For those that want to stay longer or shorter, please indicate your reference/availability and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate you. Also on the Saturday night, the Natimuk pub will be having their famous long weekend pig spit (around $15). Tastiest piggy ever! And for non-meat eating folk, the pub has veg options and the Cafe has a great selection. And either Sunday or Monday night we can organise a pizza night at the pizza oven in Nati
