Trip dependent on the weather
Come join us at Falcon's Lookout for a super fun day of rad sending whether you're an expert climber or a complete beginner.
We'll be setting up some epic top rope climbs, and gym lead pass holders may also enjoy some excellent sport climbing at the Crag.
We'll meet up for coffee early in the morning at Bacchus Marsh's charming Jolly Millers café before traveling to the crag from the Ironbark Gorge Track parking lot. From here, Falcon's Lookout is accessible through a short (20–40 minute) hike.
There are numerous possibilities available to you at the crag, with routes appropriate for climbers of all skill levels. We'll climb till around 4:30 pm or until we can ensure we have just enough daylight to hike back to the car park.
Finally, there is no better way to cap off a long day of climbing than with a stop at a pub for dinner. (Optional; may depend on how folks are feeling)
Equipment needed:

  • Climbing Helmet (no bike or other helmets)
  • Harness
  • Climbing Shoes
    You can hire the above equipment from the ROC gear room, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. For inquiries email gear@roc.org.au
    You’ll also need:
  • Day Backpack
  • Adequate food and water for the day

How to join this trip, run by the ROC (RMIT Outdoors Club):
Step 1: If you're not already a member of the RMIT Outdoors Club (roc.org.au), goto the link and sign up (https://roc.org.au/how-we-work/how-to-join/).
Membership is $35 for students, $70 for non-students (half-year memberships are also available)
Step 2: Sign up to the trip via their site (http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=4902) to secure your place, and so we've got your details for the trip
Step 3: During the week prior to the trip, the trip organiser will get in touch (usually via email) to organise car-pooling, and finalise the trip details

Equipment / What you need to bring;
If you need climbing gear, the gear-room at the RMIT Outdoor Club has everything you might need as well (https://roc.org.au/how-we-work/how-to-hire-gear/). As a bonus, membership also includes access to discounts at climbing gyms, gear and other bonus goodies! (roc.org.au has more details!)
Please read the description above for specifics on equipment required - as a minimum, the climbing gear needed for outdoor trips includes a harness, climbing helmet and climbing shoes
