To join this trip, visit http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=5838 and click 'Join trip' at the bottom of that page.
The Mixed and Ice Festival is an annual meetup for mountaineering and winter climbing, held this year from the 6th-8th August. More information here: https://iceandmixedfestival.co.nz/
There are clinics offering instruction, covering technical climbing, general mountaineering skills, ski touring, and learning to trad climb. Clinics will have differing prerequisites, it is your responsibility to ensure you are adequately prepared.
Festival clinics sell out quickly, but spaces may open up if you join the waitlist. If you do not join a clinic you can attend with a general climbing membership.
There's lots of good climbing across a range of grades, more info on climbing in the Remarkables:
https://climbnz.org.nz/nz/si/queenstown/remarkables
Independent winter climbers and mountaineers are welcome to come along, it would be good to have a few from ROC at the event.
Please note that this is not a club trip, and no activities will be planned. Club equipment may not be available for personal hire, please get in touch with the relevant convenor if looking to hire equipment from the club.
See you all there!
