We wanted to host a special ClusterHQ Hackday to preview dvol, a developer tool, a new tool that provides git-like functionality for your data.

Come discuss the tool, exchange ideas, and eat/drink a few beers. Luke Marsden(CTO), Richard Wall (Sr Engineer), and several more from the engineering team will be in the ClusterHQ...HQ to discuss dvol and more.

Schedule (tentative, may change)

• 6:30pm - Food/Drinks

• 7:00pm - Installation and general overview of features

• 7:30pm - future talk

• 8:00pm - end ish

dvol treats a volume as a base version your data, like a git repo, it defaults to a master branch.

You can then

• branch: a "clone" of a snapshot of a filesystem (branching require a commit, uses the most recent commit)

• commit: a "snapshot" - with a uuid and a commit message stored in metadataunlike with git, commits can be deleted (cleaned up) to clear space

• diff: compare the difference between two commits (in the same tree)

Feel free to come if you just want to help learning about, installing, or using, our popular storage management tool Flocker (https://clusterhq.com/flocker/introduction/).
