Charlotte Dragonboat invites all meetup folks to come and try it out. No experience is necessary. All age groups and fitness levels are welcome and we provide all the gear. You just need to wear workout clothes that can get splashed on, and bring water to drink.

Competitive team practice:

Wednesday 6:30 PM till 7:45 PM

Saturday 8:45 AM till 10:00 AM

Beginner dragon boat practice:

Saturday 10:00 AM till 11:30 AM

Morningstar Marinas at Kings Point

Warmup at 6:10 PM. Boats leave the dock at 6:30 PM sharp, and return around 7:30 PM. RSVP closes one day before the Meetup start time. The Wednesday practice is "Reserved for the CDBA racing team members." If you are new to the club, and like to attend the Wednesday evening practice or the 08:30 A.M, Saturday practice, please talk to Dr. John Chen first before signing up.

Practice: CDBA racing crew, Saturday 8:00 AM

Morningstar Marinas at Kings Point

Stretch at 8:00AM. Boats leave the dock at 8:45 AM, return at 10:00AM. The 0800 hrs start is to allow the racing crew about 30-40 minutes for strength and conditioning training prior to the practice. This practice is reserved for the CDBA racing team members. If you are new to the club, and like to attend this practice, please talk to Dr. John Chen first before signing up. RSVP closes one day before the Meetup.

Practice: Beginner, Recreational and Race crew, Saturday 10:00 AM

Morningstar Marinas at Kings Point

We invite you to meet the Charlotte Dragon Boat Association paddlers and experience fun and excitement of Dragon Boat paddling. The first 3 times are free until you decide whether to join CDBA. Our annual membership is $65 for the CDBA racing team, or $45 for recreational paddling. The membership covers all of the equipment usage for the scheduled practices/events. What to expect: You will warm up for 10-15 minutes before getting into the boat and on the water for about 45-55 minutes. The focus of the water sessions is to develop and improve the techniques and of course having fun. What to bring: Drinking water and dress appropriately for the water and the weather. We provide paddles, life jackets and coaching. If it's your first time, please look for Dr. John Chen, club chairman/founder; Brian Tarle, club president; Kim Wong, team captain. RSVP closes one day before the Meetup at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP so we may get an accurate participants' count. Thank you.
