We hope to be able to get together in person when Covid is not a big issue. Keep checking to see when we'll schedule dates.
Connect with other local hand drummers interested in playing in drumcircles with a variety of drum rythms and styles. Drumming experience is not required. The group will have some facilitation and may include instruction. This group welcomes all and we encourage sharing and mutual respect.
Roundhouse Pavillion in Genesee Valley Park, Rochester, NY
**Drumming is starting to wind down. Since it gets darker earlier let's meet at 6pm. If it's below 50 it may be a challenge to drum. There could be a fire. At this time we just see how the weather is and if you join the facebook page it may help to know if there's drumming on Wed. You can reach me at[masked] if you have questions.**
We're drumming with an established group that is already at the Park (join their facebook page - Rochester Drumcircle Ny). Usually it's at the Roundhouse, Canalview or Riverview. It's a non facilitated group jamming with all kinds of rhythms. Each time can be totally unique. Most people have djembes, dundun's, ashikos, congas, darbuka's or doumbeck. Bring your own percussion. No guarantees there is extra equipment to share. Sometimes there's a fire pit, if you have some extra fire wood bring it.
Some people bring food, drinks and libation to picnic and hang out. Drummers and friends are welcome. Drumming usually occurs even if it's raining since we're in a shelter.
